Greetings from Paraguay, South America!

We’re Jon and Kathy Griffin, and we’ve been in Paraguay with our family since 1984!  We’ve found Paraguay to be a quaint, beautiful, tropical country in which to raise our family, but most importantly, to serve the Lord.  Paraguayans are a religious people, but like Nicodemus, they lack being “born again”.

It has been our joy to have shared the Gospel of salvation by faith through grace in many areas of the country.  When we first came we participated in evangelism and church planting through the use of a small airplane.  That took us to the towns of Capitan Bado, Mbuyapey, y Villa del Rosario.  We were also active in a local Paraguayan Baptist church near Asunción, the Maranatha Independent Baptist Church of Palma Loma.

One unexpected ministry that turned out to be one of our main emphases, was that we were asked to organize a week of Bible camp for the young people of the various churches.  One thing let to another, and in 1988 we moved our family out to the beautiful “cordillera”, to the interior town of Tobatí to both plant a church and build a Bible camp for the use of Paraguayan churches.  Much has happened over the years, but if you’re interested in learning more that’s the purpose of this web site!  Keep surfing!
